Our unique, historic market town of Wadebridge is under attack. Yet another alien supermarket, Sainsburys, is angling to base itself here. With Tesco, Lidls and the Co-op already here, the distasteful presence of another supermarket in a town with a population of barely seven and a half thousand is commercial overkill.
So far, against the odds, Wadebridge has managed to keep its identity of local shops so beloved by its inhabitants and tourists who visit. We must do everything to resist the invasion of corporate giants who suck the living blood out of the community.
